This article focuses on the cultural and scientific relationships some physicians originally from Trent and active at the imperial Habsburg court (Giulio Alessandrini, Bartolomeo Guarinoni, Giovanni Melchiori, and others) established with influent German-speaking physicians in the second half of the sixteenth century. A survey of their correspondence lets us reconstruct such relationships, which were an essential part of their professional identity. Nevertheless, Trentini physicians partook in scientific disputes that intertwined with European political and religious tensions of the day.
