In this work we studied the corrosion behaviour of Ti-6Al-4V alloys in chloride-containing solutions, before and after deposition of TiN coatings obtained by physical vapour deposition. Moreover, we used ion beam implantation technique before the TiN sputtering in order to study the effects of such a treatment on both adhesion and corrosion resistance of the coating. We performed also a post-implantation of the TiN coating in order to try to reduce the number of microdefects in the coating.All the studied samples exhibited a very good corrosion behaviour.
