Appunti sulla "rivoluzione fascista": "Gerarchia" 1922-1943

The concept of revolution is one of the seminal ideas of the culture and ideology of fascism, especially of Italian fascism. Through the pages of «Gerarchia», which was founded in January 1922 by Benito Mussolini and was one of the most prestigious periodicals of the ventennio, this essay tries to analyse the ways in which the regime faced the concept of revolution in its main ramifications. Therefore, this paper will consider the construction of a new sense of time and, thus, of history; the substitution of the trinomial born with the French Revolution (liberté, egalité and fraternité) with new political categories; and eventually the issues of legitimacy, legacy and violence in the years of the regime. The aim is to highlight the permanent relationship between fascism and revolution, as well as the importance of the concept in the construction of the ideology and the politics of the Fascist Era (Era Fascista).
