In this postscript, Charles Taylor’s lecture is discussed from three points of view. First, it is read against the background of a surprising feature of the new secularization debate: the semantic crisis of the concept of religion. Second, it is seen as an attempt to imagine religion as a field rather than as a well-demarcated object. Third, it is understood as a way of circumventing the modern rage for order and its anxiety-ridden rebounds.

Abstract
In this postscript, Charles Taylor’s lecture is discussed from three points of view. First, it is read against the background of a surprising feature of the new secularization debate: the semantic crisis of the concept of religion. Second, it is seen as an attempt to imagine religion as a field rather than as a well-demarcated object. Third, it is understood as a way of circumventing the modern rage for order and its anxiety-ridden rebounds.File in questo prodotto:
