In this work the static contact angle measurements of pure liquid and pure gasses on HOPG graphite were used to determine the surface free energy and work adhesion. To determine the surface free energy different methods have been used such as; Zisman plot, Owens Wendt method (O-W) , Van Oss et a.l approach and Neumann equation state. The results show that HOPG surface show a good interaction with liquid with high dispersive behavior like paraffin liquid diiodiomethane. This is due to high dispersive surface tension (around 47 mJ/m2) of exfoliated HOPG.
