LODE is a LOgic-based web tool for Italian DEaf children. Research points out that deaf children tend to have problems in the global comprehension of texts written in a verbal language. LODE aims at stimulating the global comprehension of e-stories written in a verbal language such as Italian. This amounts to the creation of global relations in texts; in this paper, we focus on the creation of global temporal relations between events possibly distant in a story. LODE stimulates children to globally reason on e-stories through exercises with the support of an automated reasoner and a natural language processor. LODE also allows web users to collaborate and exchange their own stories in an interactive manner. To the best of our knowledge, LODE is the first e-learning tool for Italian deaf children that aims at stimulating global reasoning on whole e-stories.
