“I Santi dei Remondini ga magnà i campi dei Tesini”. Le conseguenze dei rapporti commerciali tra i venditori ambulanti Tesini e gli stampatori Remondini di Bassano nel tessuto socioeconomico della Valle di Tesino (1685-1797)

In the last decades of the 17th century, hundreds of travelling salesman from the Tesino Valley, in the Trentino Region, started travelling across Europe in order to sell engravings and books printed by the Remondini printers from Bassano – one of the greatest examples of production and distribution of engravings, books and other editorial manufactures on large scale of the Modern Age. From the analysis of a wide archival documentation preserved in different archives of the Trentino Region (Italy) – judicial documents,sworn certifications, books of the deceased, land registers and, especially, notarial deeds – the purpose of this paper is to examine the effects of the commercial relationships between the Remondini printers and the Tesini peddlers in the social-economic structure of the Valley.
