This report offers policymakers and teacher training providers an overview of the results and the corresponding recommendations from the TeachUP experiment of introducing personalised support in scalable online courses for teachers. Within TeachUP, four Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) on new teaching competences (i.e., collaboration, personalised learning, formative assessment, creative thinking) were developed. The four MOOCs were piloted in ten countries (Austria, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Lithuania, Malta, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain and Turkey) and involved around 4,000 teachers and student teachers. The findings presented offer a clear opportunity to improve the impact of online training of teachers that is effective at scale. TEACHUP is funded by the Education, Audiovisual & Culture Executive Agency of the European Union through the Erasmus plus Programme Key action 3: Initiatives for policy innovation – European policy experimentations (EACEA/34/2015).
