In this paper, we summarise recent Technologies of Vision (TeV) Research Unit’s activities in the field of photo annotation, mobile vision and Augmented Reality (AR). AR is a concept and a vision that has been with us, and will be with us, for the foreseeable future. Superficial visual augmentation can now be performed on entry level Smartphones, but we are only tapping into a small part of the available potential that AR has to offer.
