In ten years activity our center is gradually moving towards a prograssive computerization making large use of microprocessors and microcomputers. Such sophisticated products of the microelectronics evolution allowed both an increasing of the capability of instruments already existing in our institution and the development of new instruments with favourable cost/benefit balance. Two examples of such applications will be discussed as well as a few considerations on data managements problems which become best appreciated when an intensive use of computerization is made.
